Chao Ting has launched a new menu at its Yuen Long branch, integrating traditional Chaozhou cuisine, Sichuan spice, and Western creativity to provide diners with a fresh taste experience. The new menu is officially available from today, allowing diners to explore more possibilities based on familiar Chao cuisine.
Highlights of the New Menu
Executive Chef Yang Wei Guo stated that the new menu is based on traditional braised dishes, incorporating the numbing, fragrant, and spicy elements of Sichuan cuisine, along with Western cooking techniques. The aim is to make it easier for the new generation of diners to appreciate Chao cuisine. The new menu not only retains the essence of Chao cuisine but also brings a refreshing contemporary flavour.
The cold dishes on the new menu include “Chao-style Marinated Scallops,” “Cold Mixed Flower Snails,” and classic braised dishes; while the hot dishes feature “Shantou Seafood Platter with Crispy French Bread” and “Flaming Pineapple Mango Sweet and Sour Pork.” Additionally, modern fusion dishes such as “Red Wine Foie Gras” and “Wellington Pork Pie with Preserved Vegetables” are available, along with desserts like “Coconut Ice Cream with Mango Sago” and “Ice Cream Fresh Fruit Banana Boat.” These dish pairings allow diners to choose freely and enjoy a rich dining experience.
Catering to Different Generations' Tastes
Chao Ting’s transformation not only breaks the stereotype that traditional Chaozhou cuisine is only suitable for the elderly but also aims to cater to the tastes of different generations in the area. The new menu covers classic Chao dishes, spicy Sichuan cuisine, and modern fusion dishes, allowing the elderly to reminisce about familiar braised flavours, while younger diners and children can enjoy the spicy and contemporary tastes, meeting the needs of cross-generational family gatherings.
To celebrate the launch of the new menu, from 20 October 2026 to 30 November 2026, diners spending HK$600 or more on dinner will receive a complimentary Crispy Sesame Chicken (valued at HK$168); at the same time, desserts and drinks will also enjoy a buy-one-get-one-free offer, allowing diners to indulge in more delicious options.
