Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden (KFBG), in collaboration with the Chellaram Foundation, officially launched the new community initiative ‘Eat Well Together’ on 23 September 2026. The programme invites Hong Kong residents to explore a plant-based diet through practical inspiration, shared learning, and everyday actions.

Programme Details and Objectives

The ‘Eat Well Together’ initiative aims to connect the community through workshops, online resources, recipes, and shared experiences to promote the practice of plant-based eating. Rooted in KFBG’s philosophy of sustainable living, the programme encourages the public to start with small, manageable changes, highlighting that progress is more important than perfection. KFBG’s Executive Director, Dr. William Wan, stated that food is not only a personal choice but also a crucial entry point for human well-being and ecological health.

Shared Table Workshops and Challenge Activities

In its first year, the programme will host a ‘Shared Table Workshop’ once a month, totalling 12 sessions, targeting office workers, families with children, and caregivers to help more individuals make practical dietary changes. Additionally, the programme will launch a ‘Plant-Based 7-Day Challenge’ on World Vegetarian Day (1 October) and World Food Day (16 October), encouraging the public to gradually incorporate more plant-based meals into their daily lives.

Wong Lai-hin, Head of Sustainable Living at KFBG, emphasised that the most impactful changes often begin with small steps in daily life, and that collective community practice can coalesce into a powerful force for social transformation. The initiative aims to inspire more people to believe that every seemingly small step can accumulate into meaningful impact.
